Commercial Licensing

The ownership of NFTs from within the main Goanna NFT collections come with commercial rights.

Al Goanna V1

The ownership of an original Al Goanna NFT comes with specific commercial licensing rights allowing holders to leverage and commercialise their NFT. Holders are given a non-exclusive, royalty free commercial license to the underlying art of the NFT. This license is for world wide usage with no cap on the revenue that the holder can generate or earn. As the owner of this NFT you can sell its likeness or make derivatives of it. You can give others permission to use it. Ownership of the NFT is mediated by holding the ASA in a wallet you control.

If you sell the NFT you also give up any commercial rights to the use of the underlying art. In this instance you will be responsible for working out an agreement with the new owner and settling any disputes directly between yourselves.

The licensing rights apply to the NFT itself, but not the Goanna logo, names (Goanna, Al Goanna, Goanna Mutants, Goanna Zombies), site images, or other marketing material. As the creator of the NFT, the Goanna NFT project retains the right to also exploit the intellectual property rights governing the art.

A provision will also be made to allow the Goanna DAO the right to utilise both the Goanna brand and any or the underlying art for non-commercial use. In any instances where the brand is used by the DAO it must clearly include the word “DAO”.

As the collection included a large number of partnerships and collaborations with external brands any NFTs which feature a direct reference to an external brand are subject to additional provisions. In this case the artwork must be recreated so that the branding is no longer visible.

Zombies V Mutants

The ownership of a V2 Goanna from the Zombies V Mutants series will come with specific commercial licensing rights allowing holders to leverage and commercialise their NFT.

World Cup Goanna

The World Cup Goanna series is a commemorative NFT series to acknowledge Algorand’s involvement in the 2022 World Cup and provide a fun and engaging experience for Goanna collectors. The utility is limited to tournament specific promotions and does not include any commercial licensing rights for holders.

Art Goanna

Since a large component of the Art Goanna series involves the collaboration with artists from outside of the project there are no commercial rights associated with ownership of one of the NFTs from this collection.
